In the middle ages topaz held some seriously witchy properties. It was believed to shield the wearer from black magic. If kept at home, topaz could ward off accidents and fires. If kept under a pillow, it could prevent nightmares.

St. Hildegard also recommended the topaz as a cure for dim vision. After soaking a topaz in wine for three days and nights, rubbing the stone gently on the eyes would help. This could explain the other popular belief, that topaz could render its wearer invisible. A truly powerful stone ✨
