Labradorite honors Ariamrhod the Welsh Goddess of the Moon and Stars. Her home is the Aurora Borealis, the place where souls go when their body dies and waits to be born once again. 

The magickal stone also features in Inuit lore which believes it fell from the frozen fire of the Aurora Borealis, an ordinary stone that is bewitched with the mystical light that separates the waking world from unseen realms.
